Our story..........The inspiration for this came about from a friend of ours telling us about the Bandaged bears at the Children's hospital. After looking into this we thought what a great way to help raise awareness and support such a great cause. Very quickly after that we adopted our bear, "Hairold" who has become somewhat famous around Freshwater.
Being proud foster parents our job & responsibility was to take Hairold on a number of adventures, documenting them along the way........ and we did just that!!! Hairold had such a busy schedule we had to keep a diary as he was in such high demand.
Hairold's final finale was our Bears Night Out Fundraiser where he was of course the star of the show.
Hairold then returned to the Children's Hospital to be given to one of the sick children to enjoy along with the photos and stories to tell. Although we will miss him, we know Hairold is spreading lots of love and bringing smiles to the children that need it most.

Racing Season is in full swing and what a better way to see what styles the Richfield Team are creating and inspired by for this seasons Races.
- P e r f e c t l y U n d o n e -
We have seen alot of the “ perfectly undone” style in past Race day Upstyle however this season it is definitely more prominent. The Northern Beaches love this look being surrounded by beaches our lifestyle os very much liking to go for a surf after work and inspired by effortless beauty and Fashion embracing our natural style.

The plaits are the iconic look of this seasons derby days… and the Richfield Team love this! With so much of the inspiration from Medieval Vikings and Game of Thrones; clearly a huge influence for the Richfield Team with not only the intricate plaited hairstyles but we can't ignore the good looking men as well…
Here is some of the Richfield Teams favourite looks they have created and their inspirations…..
"Thank you to our clients and community of Freshwater for all the support. We are finalist once again in 2016 Local business Awards. We are all so grateful for all your support. This year is our 15 year anniversary of our salon being in Freshwater and cannot believe how lucky we are. The Richfield' Team look forward to many more years in Freshwater."
- The Richfieldian Family
Well its been a year since the last proper blog….
Im very rusty on the blogging so do excuse the gobbled-y-goop! I am very excited to be back writing to the Richfield audience! Even as I write this I’m thinking where do I start? Is this going to be any good? Is anyone even going to be bothered to read it? Why cant I come up with a catchy title!!?!!
Anyway lots has changed in the last year from just moving to Bath and discovering all its beauty I'm settling in to it now. The most important for us and what this blog will be centred on is that Richfield Hairdressing has settled in Bath...... I know 2 salons on the opposite side of the world you must be crazy!! Yeah…. we could just well be!
A mission or should I say dream of the Richfield Team for the last few years.
Is what if we had a salon on the other side of the world?
How would it work?
How can we make it happen?
Well we did it! Wohoo!!
We are all so excited and nervous for this new adventure for the Richfieldians as you are with any new business let alone all the way across the world, but mainly excitement has been the overriding feeling!
To get a back drop for you guys just to show you how completely unique this all is. I am currently writing this on a 27hr plane journey back to where the dream all started; down under! In my hand i have a local magazine from the Bath Chronicle newspaper that is us celebrating Australia Day in both salons, funny pictures and all... (I'll attach a link at the bottom so you can all have a good laugh) I was so shocked and so proud to find this article last night staring at me. So fitting for this important swap that is taking place as I write.
I just want to apologise that throughout this blog things might be confusing as I want to say so much and I can admit I'm an amateur to the blogging world, but ill try and simplify as much as possible.
So what do you mean by this swap I'm talking about? Well… Our utterly unique and exciting idea of becoming international all began with how amazing it would be to be able to work in two places. Two places so far away but so connected in odd ways. We wanted to create a job description where you have the opportunity or choice to work in such opposite but beautiful places. So thats what kelly and I are doing at this point in time, passing airplanes in the air waving from our oval windows as we swap countries for the next 6 weeks.
And what better places to work than the beautiful historic architecture city of Bath and the stunning Northern beaches of Sydney. Cant really get much better than that!
Richfield prides its itself in having a European background (even being called Europe at one point) first set up in the 80s in towns in Somerset very close to Bath under Richfield by Mr Simon himself.
Anyway this isn't a history lesson........ I wanted to focus on our HUGE achievement and how it couldn't been done without the Families, Friends and of course the wonderful Clients of the Richfield Team of over THIRTY years. So I want to give the opportunity from Kelly, Simon and myself to say Thank you… thank you… thank you.
You are all brilliant and we love you so much!
Richfield has been around this long because we value the friendship's we build. The Richfield Team are family, we don't merely turn up to work everyday we look out for each other we are sisters friends we go to the Stowaway and now The Cork in Bath after work to catch up and have fun! We want to create a happy and fun environment.
We live up to our Artistic and Social motto! We believe that we can and already have created that in Bath as well!
Id like to say the last three months building Richfield UK has been a lot of hard work but like I was saying before couldn't of been done without the support of clients, friends and Family.
And YES we've had people coming into our salon who have been to Sydney, who have family there, who live in Sydney or just in Bath for a holiday (that have been recommended to go to the Sydney salon) and clients have been in from Sydney who have moved to the UK or clients in Sydney have told their english friends of us and have come in to see UK Richfield… WOW Amazing right?! So thanks again everyone this is what its all about connecting two places that couldn't be any further from each other … let me tell you! (23 hours to go!) Although by the time this has been uploaded I will have landed in lovely warm Sydney!
As someone once said if you imagine something, picture it and plan enough you can make anything happen! And I truly believe that now the only boundaries you have are the ones you put on yourself. I’ve learnt so much from this experience and one of them is that. Open your heart meet people talk to people help them out and you will be rewarded ten fold. Bath is such a beautiful community of people that have welcomed us with open arms! Im so thankful to all the support from the local people and businesses around Bath for their advice help and friendship! I wont be shy to mention them either but they know who they are! So thank you!
Looking forward to the months to come as scary and exciting it is all in one. I’m SO incredibly proud of my Richfield family they work so hard and deserve to be acknowledged! Wherever this goes from here I believe the achievement from this point here is astronomical I’m so blessed and thankful for these opportunities we have.
And I promise! I wont leave it so long next time to write about how us Richfieldians are going settling in both countries….

And... BATH CHRONICLE!!!
Richfield hairdressing bath
Jane Austen Festival has been in full swing with the many crowds dressed in vintage regency outfits were seen throughout Bath and for tourists, and me, it gave a great perception into Bath's regency period with many taking to the streets dressed conventionally . This year Bath held the record for the most people in the same room wearing regent outfits, making big news throughout Britain! I took to the streets to speak to one of the many intriguing and eye stopping outfits of a couple who have come all the way from Sweden! I spoke to them about how devastated they were to not get tickets in time for the Ball but are very excited about all the events they have of this week. They hope to get tickets for next years events though and not miss out on the ball once again! I thought they looked fab and not a hair out of place! You can have a look at all the Jane Austen Festival information on their website!
